8 metres long, 2 metres high. Located at Orberstrasse 57, Frankfurt am Main.

A monumental steel artwork at the entrance of the Protagon Performing Arts cultural venue. The gate symbolises the movement of the body, its connection to nature and to the creative act.

It sits between my 2022 and 2024 works ("Organic Fence" and "Organic Fence, Part 2"). I designed it more deliberately, with more accomplished reflection on the production stages and material choices – after a phase of growth in steel work and in the observation of new textures.

One challenge was to produce the piece within a limited budget and timeframe, hence the use of sheet metal on the outside of the gate only, which gives a clear view of the compositional stages from inside.

The gate is built from raw steel bars, profiles, and new sheets whose oxidation process was accelerated until the right texture was reached.

Every mechanical part – handles, hinges, opening systems – is designed and made entirely in the workshop. This craft approach allows for solutions adapted to a public venue while keeping the dialogue with the sculptural form.

The search for dynamic curves and for relief through the use of sheets in concave and convex shapes is the most important direction of the work's overall aesthetic.
